Miss E’s Session

August 11, 2022

Were you nervous about your session?

I was so incredibly nervous about my session. I think I did my nails like 3 different times in the days prior, my hair…I can’t even tell you how many times I went over it with a straightener to try and make sure it was prime for curling, and I was shaking almost the entire drive to the studio. I was a jumble of nerves, overthinking absolutely everything. I even emailed Marlayne a day or two before because my face started to break out (which never happens), and I was freaking out about it.  But all of that worry and overthinking was wiped away and I was so comfortable as soon as I walked into the studio.

What did you like best about your boudoir experience?

Oh man, just one thing?! It was all awesome! I think my favorite thing was how much you both hyped me up though! You both have such amazing personalities, and really know how to make a woman feel amazing about herself (backwards body suit and all ). It was a totally judgement free zone. Oh, not to mention having my own personal fan girls- literally and metaphorically

What inspired you to book a boudoir session?

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, underwent a double mastectomy and numerous other surgeries. She had pictures done with Marlayne last year, and after seeing the beauty Marlayne captured when doing hers and seeing how much it boosted her confidence and how good it made her feel about herself again, I knew I had to do one too. I’ve never thought of myself as “the sexy one”, I’ve always been clumsy and awkward and goofy, and my mom is the same way. So between seeing how Marlayne made her feel so good about herself, and my mom telling me over and over again to “just do it- you won’t regret it” I finally caved and decided to step out of my comfort zone. And I am SO glad I did.

What made you choose a Marlayne Larsen Boudoir Artistry?

Seeing my moms pictures, of course. But also being in the Facebook group and seeing all of the photos of these other beautiful women and getting to know Marlayne and seeing how down to earth she is, and how she just wants to make other women feel amazing about themselves… how could I go with anyone else??

Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

100%. As a mom, we always see that side of ourselves first. It’s so easy to lose the “sexy pre-kid” side of ourselves. Especially if we’ve gained weight or our boobs don’t sit quite as high as they used to. We over analyze and pick ourselves apart, which I have been so guilty of for years. But seeing the photos as we went through them after the shoot, I instantly thought “oh, there she is. That’s where she’s been all this time… still right here.”

Would you recommend this experience to a friend?

Completely. I’ve been telling so many of my friends that they have to book a session. The empowering, confidence boosting feelings that go along with having a shoot done is a wave I don’t ever want to stop riding again.

Is there anything we can do to make experience better for you in the future?

Not that I can think of! I can’t rave enough about how amazing the whole experience was from start to finish.

It’s so incredible to hear that your mother was the one encouraging you to have this experience. It’s beautiful to hear that the same effects were felt by you both.
My hope for you is that you can better see and appreciate your beauty for many years to come.

But, going back for another sell esteem session is always an option😁
